Sailboats, 21 Able Crew, an Ideal Destination,
Perfect Weather, and Answer: A lot of fun, great memories, and tons of digital pix... By all accounts, the Squadron’s Hota Weekend Cruise was a great success with five boats and 21 people overnighting on the floating docks of Hota across Tokyo Bay from Jogashima. This was the first multi-boat cruise the Squadron has held in a number of years, and clearly there will be more. On top of the wonderful sailing getting there (12+ knot winds much of the time), we had great crews, dockside swimming, copious iced beer, delicious & inexpensive food, NO mosquitoes, a new village sento, brilliant conversations, and, not least, digital cameras to remember it all. Thanks to Carl Pickin and to Kaoru Ijima for making these tell-all photos available. And thanks again to the skippers who made this all possible. Okay, so let's start planning the next one!
